You won’t believe what she said about them…
Fox News reporter Catherine Herridge has followed Shep Smith out the door as she has announced her decision to join CBS.
Herridge’s contract was done over the summer and Fox News had attempted to retain her but she decided not to stay.
And she seemingly took a shot at Fox News, and by extension President Donald Trump, as she heads out the door.
“I am grateful to Mr. Murdoch for the opportunity to cover the most impactful stories of the last 23 years, most recently the Special Counsel report and impeachment inquiry,” she said.
“I have received great personal satisfaction from mentoring the next generation of reporters and producers and sharing my journalistic values — that facts matter and enterprise reporting will always win the day,” she said.
Fox News also issued a statement thanking Herridge for her work with the company and praising the work that she has done.
“As a founding employee, over the last 23 years, Catherine Herridge has been an asset to FOX News. From her breaking news headlines at the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice to her reporting after the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the investigation into Princess Diana’s death, she has always been at the forefront of every beat she has covered,” Fox News said.
“We are grateful for Catherine’s many contributions to the network, wish her continued success and were proud to honor her as she received the Tex McCrary Award for Journalism last week from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society for her enterprise reporting at FOX News,” it said.
And CBS issued its own statement welcoming the veteran news reporter to the CBS staff.
“Veteran journalist Catherine Herridge is joining CBS News as a Senior Investigative Correspondent based in Washington D.C., it was announced today. Herridge has reported on intelligence issues from the nation’s capital and around the world for the past three decades, in addition to conducting newsmaking interviews and consumer investigations. In her new role at CBS News, which begins in November, she will report original investigations and cover national security and intelligence matters that impact the country.
“Catherine Herridge is a skilled investigative correspondent who has consistently brought depth and originality to her reporting,” said Christopher Isham, Vice President and Washington Bureau Chief. “We are very excited that she will be joining the outstanding team at the Washington Bureau.”
“CBS News has always placed a premium on enterprise journalism and powerful investigations,” said Herridge. “I feel privileged to join a team where facts and storytelling will always matter.”
Throughout her career, Herridge has reported on some of the biggest national and international security stories of our time, including the 9/11 terrorist attacks from New York City, as well as military trials for the architects of the attack at Guantanamo Bay, and more. Herridge has covered news from various hot spots all over the world including Afghanistan, Iraq, Qatar, Israel, Northern Ireland as well as the former Yugoslavia.‘Prior to joining CBS News, Herridge was the chief intelligence correspondent for FOX News Channel (FNC), covering the intelligence community, the Justice Department, and the Department of Homeland Security. While at FOX News, she was also a New York-based correspondent for the newsmagazine “Fox Files,” where she led investigations into Medicare fraud, prescription drug abuse and child prostitution. Earlier this year, she interviewed President Trump after the Special Counsel ended its investigation.
She began her career as a London-based correspondent for ABC News before joining FOX News in 1996.
Herridge’s national security reporting was recently recognized by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society with the “Tex” McCrary Award for excellence in journalism. She is also an author. Her book, “The Next Wave: On the Hunt for al Qaeda’s American Recruits,” explores the new face of terrorism and predicts the source of future threats inside the US, as well as the Middle East and North Africa.
She is a graduate of Harvard College and the Columbia School of Journalism where she sits on the alumni board. Herridge comes from a military family. Her husband, a West Point graduate, has served multiple overseas deployments since 9/11. They live in Washington, D.C. with their two sons.

If she actually reports truthful and accurate news that will be welcome relief from the fake news we usually get from the MSP. I am afraid she will not survive long in the fake news world if she doesn’t tow the line.
Ya unless CBS who is a fake news purveyor makes her lie in her new job. You think CBS will actually let her report honest news??!! I will never watch her again because she will be working for a scumbag news outlet and we can never be sure she is not lying.
We’ll miss you Catherine. Wish you good luck in your new venture with CBS, however I’ll stay with FOX for the news.
I enjoyed Herridges’ reporting and her professionalism. However, I will not follow her reporting at CBS. It will only be a matter of time before she is coopted into MSM liberal bias. I view the, what I term, MORON STREAM MEDIA, AS TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND CORRUPT..
I don’t see how this is a shot at anybody…and frankly that’s not her style. The Special Counsel report and impeachment inquiry is what she covered most recently. So how is stating that fact “a shot.”
Guess I missed where she said something bad about Fox News.
Catherine was always one of my favorites for her heads up reporting. If she is a never-trumped, her professionalism focused her on reporting facts.
Sad she’ll be going to a network I never watch for news.
Of course, with Paul Ryan now on the Board of FoxNews, anything ungood can happen.
Sorry to see you go. Thanks for being with Fox on reporting the news. Hope you the best at CBS although I don’t watch it.
FOX’s loss.
Boo-bye! Take Napolitano with you on your way out.
She is the person I have trusted at Fox News [AMONG A FEW OTHERS]. I hope when she goes to CBS that she will remain as honest as she has been at Fox. I would have rathered we lose Chris Wallace or Brazile.
WE WILL MISS YOU.
She just threw her reputation down the toilet by joining one of the biggest purveyors of fake news, CBS(Complete B*ll Sh*t)
I guess it is all about the money.
Harvard? BAH HUMBUG!
Thought so
You will regret ruining your reputation. Seriously, CBS… what a joke!
