Things are getting pretty bad…
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio stated that his city plans to take away funding from the police department and shift them to youth services.
According to the Washington Examiner, “We will be moving funding from the NYPD to youth initiatives and social services,” de Blasio stated.
“The details will be worked out in the budget process in the weeks ahead. But I want people to understand that we are committed to shifting resources to ensure that the focus is on our young people,” he stated. “I also will affirm we will only do it in a way that is certain to continue the city will be safe.”
