Democrat Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton wants to bring in a new bill regarding crash test dummies.
Apparently this is something Democrats believe is a pressing issue right now.
But the really absurd part is what the bill is actually about.
Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) announced this week her intention of introducing a bill requiring both male and female car crash test dummies after claiming “they are nowhere near achieving equality,” regarding safety testing to keep women safe on the road.
The Democrat congresswoman, who serves as the chair of the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, lamented, “The federal government only uses crash test dummies modeled on male bodies, and car companies are not required to use dummies modeled on female bodies either,” in a Monday press release.Breitbart News
That’s right – according to Democrats, equality must be enforced everywhere, even in car crash simulations.
But why would equality matter in a car crash?
It’s the kind of impact and the type of injury that matter most.
Not to Democrats though.
For them, it’s always about some aspect of left-wing ideology.
Highlighting “biological differences in anatomy” between the sexes, including “neck strength and posture,” Norton claimed such differences “affect how female and male bodies react in a crash.”
“Since cars are not required to be tested with the safety of women in mind, women are at higher risk of injury and death in car crashes,” she said.
Norton, who is a non-voting member of the House of Representatives, claimed that women have yet to achieve full equality as a result of the lack of female crash test dummies.Breitbart News
Surely, there’s something better to propose a bill on than equality for crash test dummies.
Must be a slow news day for Democrats.
A range of people mocked the proposal immediately.
Even more comically, it turns out there’s video evidence of Rep. Norton making a mess of parking her own car in 2015.
Another Twitter user replied to Rep. Norton’s Tweet with some wise words.
Yes, Rep. Norton should get a grip.
But she’s also proposing statehood for DC, so that’s not likely to happen anytime soon!
