The FBI has been taking a beating in the awareness of the American public over the last few years. Granted, it took a beating early on with J. Edgar Hoover’s unusual habits coming to light, but it could be argued that Hoover at least wanted to protect Americans.
Many would argue that’s not the case anymore after they let Hillary off of the hook and have harassed political conservatives for no other crime than being conservative.
You’d think that they’ve forgotten that they work for us.
Now, new information has come out that the FBI has been busy with more unAmerican activities. Mark Tapscott writes,
Judicial Watch is suing the Department of Justice (DOJ) for records of communications between the FBI and major banks that gave officials data on financial transactions on Jan. 5 and 6 by suspects linked to the Jan. 6 incursion on Capitol Hill.
The Washington-based government watchdog filed its suit after the FBI failed to respond as required by federal law to the group’s Feb. 10 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for: “All records of communication between the FBI and any financial institution, including but not limited to Bank of America, Citibank, Chase Manhattan Bank, Discover, and/or American Express, in which the FBI sought transaction data for those financial institutions’ debit and credit card account holders who made purchases in Washington, DC, Maryland, and/or Virginia on January 5, 2021, and/or January 6, 2021.”
According to Judicial Watch, the law enforcement agency’s request to the financial institutions was in connection with the federal investigation of the event on Jan. 6 that saw hundreds of protesters enter the U.S. Capitol to protest the November 2020 presidential election’s outcome and vote counting.
That’s right, your government used your purchase history to look for ways to figure out who was at the Capitol on Janary 6, 2021 so they could target Trump supporters for being Trump supporters (because, let’s be honest, if it were about “violence,” which was laughably little at the Capitol that day, the FBI would be hunting down Antifa and BLM rioters).
I am not suggesting that you engage in any illegal activities. I will suggest, though, that you should be aware of who is tracking you in all kinds of ways that you didn’t think about and what kind of power that can give them.
This is just more proof that the Fourth Amendment means nothing to the Federal Government.
