Some people will say this story isn’t funny. I get that. It’s a serious matter, both the issue that Texas Democrats are trying desperately to avoid and also what happened to them.
But when you see someone do the wrong thing for the wrong reasons and, then, bad things happen to them, it can be hard to feel sympathy. So, yes, I laughed.
Do you remember the Texas Democrats who flew out of that state on a charter jet to try to prevent a vote on election integrity bills? If not, you can find out more here, but the short of it is that Democrats are desperate to try to prevent election integrity bills from passing in red states even though Democrats seem fine with those same guidelines already being in place in states that vote blue. Essentially, it comes down to hypocrisy on their part. In Texas, Democrats went so far as to actually leave the state to try to prevent that vote.
Three Democratic state lawmakers who left the state for Washington, D.C., this week have tested positive for COVID-19, the Texas House Democratic Caucus announced Saturday.
All three members are fully vaccinated, according to the caucus, which did not identify the lawmakers.
One member tested positive for COVID Friday night, followed by two members who tested positive on a rapid test Saturday morning, according to a statement from the caucus.
State Rep. Chris Turner, a Grand Prairie Democrat and chair of the caucus, said the members are following guidance and protocols issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
So, yes, the party that says that everyone needs to get vaccinated to stop the spread of CoVid-19 still tested positive after being vaccinated and after trying to rob the people of Texas of confidence in their elections.
On the one hand, getting CoVid-19 isn’t funny. On the other hand, these people got what they deserved.
