Sometimes the devil is in the details. Or, maybe, the angel is in the details, as the case may be.
What do I mean? In this case, the details have to do with individual’s privacy when it comes to their medical decisions. Liberals love to talk about how a woman’s decision about whether to have an abortion is a personal decision between her and her doctor, though, conservatives argue that the unborn child is a human being, and there is no privacy right to protect murder.
Now, a privacy advocacy group is using that same “right to privacy” used to justify allowing abortions in the courts to shut down Democrats efforts to push vaccines on everyone in the country. Matt McGregor writes,
Though North Carolina’s “door-to-door” vaccine outreach program has been called “not confrontational,” a health advocacy group said it veers into violating a “zone of privacy.”
The zone of privacy is civil liberty constitutionally protected in the Bill of Rights first recognized by the U.S. Supreme Court in Griswold v. Connecticut (1965) when it determined that the government can’t restrict the sale and use of contraceptives, invalidating an 1879 law that the court ruled was a violation of “marital privacy.”
The court’s ruling later became a precedent in the 1973 case of Roe V. Wade, which decided that the government can’t excessively restrict a woman’s right to have an abortion.
Leslie Manookian, president and founder of the Health Freedom Defense Fund Inc, (HFDF), a nonprofit headquartered in Sandpoint, Idaho, told The Epoch Times that the established zone of privacy is being challenged by the door-to-door campaign.
“We don’t walk up to people and ask them, are you on anti-depressants? Do you have erectile dysfunction? We don’t ask people personal things like this for a reason, because it’s unethical, and because of this zone of privacy,” Manookian said. “We understand that it’s not our business to meddle in other people’s businesses, and it’s not the government’s business, either.”
I love it when liberals’s justifications are used against them to prevent them from shoving their foolishness down people’s throats. Unlike abortion, which is a murder issue, not a personal medical issue, whether someone chooses to be vaccinated with an experimental vaccine against a virus with an over 99% survival rate is absolutely a personal medical issue. Whatever your personal view on the CoVid-19 vaccines, that is a clear cut conclusion.
But Democrats only want privacy for themselves or when it can be used to push their agenda. They don’t really care about privacy for the average American at all.
